Presenter: Brian Potter - CFE, CFA and Richard Ruffing Jr.- CPA, CFE  

Stout – Global Financial Advisory Services

Brian Potter and Richard Ruffing will be presenting on the topic of using financial experts in mediation. This presentation will focus on best practices for engaging a financial expert, the various roles of a financial expert throughout the mediation process, and specific types of cases where Stout has been hired to provide expert services. Brian and Richard will also discuss "hot topics"/questions associated with providing expert services in a mediation setting.

Cost: Free to ACR Members, $20 for non-ACR Members

Brian Potter is a Managing Director in the Dispute Consulting group and serves as the head of the Illinois practice for the firm’s Family Law Valuation Advisory group. Mr. Potter has provided valuation, litigation advisory, and forensic accounting services for numerous purposes, including marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, estate and gift taxation and bankruptcy.

Richard Ruffing, Jr. is a Manager in the Dispute Consulting group. He has experience providing financial consulting services to attorneys, audit committees, executive management teams, and individuals. He focuses on engagements relating to forensic accounting and commercial litigation including economic damages determination and internal financial investigations.
